CoverGirl names country music star Kelsea Ballerini as new brand face


Ballerini will front the campaign for a yet-to-be-announced collection from the drugstore brand

Coty-owned beauty brand CoverGirl has tapped Grammy award winning country singer Kelsea Ballerini as its latest face.

After making history as the only female country artist to log three consecutive number one singles from her debut album The First Time, Ballerini said: “I’ve been a fan of CoverGirl for as long as I can remember.

“Make-up is another creative outlet for me, and I’ve always said if I wasn’t doing music, I would probably be a make-up artist!”

Ballerini will be the face of a yet-to-be-announced collection from the beauty brand, said to be launching this spring, and will continue with a multi-year partnership.

Stefano Curti, Chief Brands Officer for Consumer Beauty at Coty, said that the brand valued Ballerini “lending her voice to causes that are important to her, adding: “We’re so excited to have Kelsea join an iconic line up CoverGirl who share the same passion for accessibility, inclusivity and individuality.

“She is a lover of beauty, constantly experimenting with fun make-up looks as part of her creativity.”

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Ballerini began songwriting as a child and has since collected 25 gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America.

The 28-year-old joins an extensive line-up of famous faces in representing the brand, including Ugly Betty star America Ferrera, Zendaya, James Charles and Lili Reinhart, as well as US supermodel Niki Taylor, who returned to CoverGirl this year as the face of its Simply Ageless range, 23 years after her original campaign in 1998.
