Dow Corning has created a new headquarters in the Middle East to better serve its customer base in the region.

The new operation, based in Manama, Bahraini is Dow’s first presence in the Middle East and the headquarters will house engineers, chemists and sales teams.

“The Middle East is growing rapidly and quickly diversifying its business footprint,” said Dr Stephanie Burns, Dow Corning chairman, president and ceo. “We recognise the region’s growing impact on the global economy and are now better positioned to share the benefits of Dow Corning’s silicon-based materials and technology to help the region continue to grow and compete in the global economy over the long-term.”

The silicone specialist will also be looking to collaborate with academic, government and research organisations in the region to create more efficient and environmentally sustainable products.
