The IFSCC has had to join in-cosmetics Asia in postponing next week’s events

Following the announcement on Monday by Reed Exhibitions that next week’s in-cosmetics Asia show in Bangkok was to be postponed due to the flooding in the city and surrounding areas, Thailand’s Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCCT) has now announced that the IFSCC conference also due to be held in Bangkok next week has been postponed.

“As of now the mass amount of water overflowing down from the north of Thailand is becoming more and more fearsome to Bangkok citizens as it will reach the capital in a matter of hours to days. This is a very difficult time for the whole Thailand,” says SCCT president Panvipa Krisdaphong. “The security of all guests and participants of the IFSCC 2011 is our first major priority. Secondly, we fully intend to organise this event to its potential, therefore the IFSCC 2011 organising committee agrees to postpone the IFSCC 2011 Conference.” The SCCT says a new official date will be announced shortly.

in-cosmetics Asia organiser Reed said on Monday: “It has now become clear that disruption to movement around the capital and the outlying areas make it impossible to guarantee the delivery of a successful show next week.” The show will be rescheduled with new dates announced shortly. Reed says this is likely to be in December 2011 or early 2012.

Next week was to have been ‘Beauty week in Bangkok’, with the organisers of the two events joining forces for the first time in a bid to deliver the best possible programme of activity for the industry.

...Reed has just announced that in-cosmetics Asia has been rescheduled for 14-16 December 2011.
