General Manager UK – Fragrance Operations

Key stakeholder management will play a big part in the success of the role

£50K - £60K + bonus + Car + excellent benefits

New Chapter Consulting is working alongside a market-leader in its field for an outstanding General Manager to head up their UK Operations. They’re a family-owned business with a great culture, however their reach is of a global nature, with other manufacturing operations around the world.

This is a key appointment for them, as they’re looking for someone to help develop and drive the business, continuing the great work that has already been put in. This reports direct to the CEO and offers a level of autonomy not often found in the UK.

Key stakeholder management will play a big part in the success of the role, with key relationships including the CEO, Customer services, Production, 3rd Party Logistics providers and the H&S team.

They’re an open business and you’ll be expected to communicate the company’s culture and message with employees at all levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages onsite 3rd Party logistics team
  • Manages all projects relating to the site
  • Manages internal operational departments, i.e. Customer Service, factory, H&S
  • Responsible for OTIF and lead-time in line with divisional objectives
  • Responsible for onsite Security
  • Communicates effectively with internal departments
  • Directs team to establish priorities and ensures proper execution
  • Maintains open communication with all internal and external customers of the business
  • Establishes and builds the business’ culture within the team
  • Manages successful service improvements within budget and on time
  • Implements initiatives that focus on meeting growing business needs
  • Focuses on continuous service and cost improvement
  • Ensures that all employees are adequately trained and qualified before being placed in position
  • Verifies that company policies, including safety and housekeeping, are enforced consistently
  • Responsible for P and L and balance sheet
  • Prepares annual budget
  • Responsible for continual tracking of budget related information to ensure cost centre remains in budget

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Experience of managing a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience of managing 3rd party logistics providers
  • Ability to provide excellent morale to the team
  • Strong leadership and motivational ability
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
  • Experience using a modern ERP system, with experience in AX Dynamics highly favourable
  • Ability to prove success in effectively managing a successful and productive facility
  • Ability to develop and manage operating budgets
  • Excellent time management skills
