Ahead of the Pure Beauty Global Awards in Dubai this May, finalists Huda and Mona Kattan reveal the inside scoop on Huda Beauty – and what it’s really like to work with family

In the Kattan household, you don't talk shop on Fridays. It might seem a strict measure, but for a family of self-confessed workaholics, it's a rule they've had to enforce to stop everyone from, in Huda's words, "driving each other crazy" at the weekend, which in Dubai is Friday to Saturday.

Huda Beauty is still a relative newcomer, but it's easy to see why the women behind the game-changing brand have resorted to 'no work Fridays'.

To start, Huda Beauty has 24 million Instagram followers – for the record, that's over eight million more than Kylie Cosmetics and makes it the 66th most-followed account on the whole of Instagram.

On top of that, it's one of the fastest-growing beauty brands in the world, employs around 100 people and during the launch of its 3D Highlighter Palette sold one product every six seconds. Did we mention the brand has just turned five?
