“I didn’t plan on starting a perfume house at all,” says Linda Pilkington. Her brand, Ormonde Jayne, got off to an impulsive start when she bumped into an old friend. “He was working for Chanel Fine Jewellery and was looking for some candles to burn in the store.” After many months of trial and error, Pilkington finally got the formula just right and invoiced the brand for her work. Her company’s very first invoice issued to one of the world’s biggest fashion brands.
