Beauty brand of reality TV star breaks social media silence after seven weeks to reveal a revamped version of its hero Lip Kits
Following a seven week-long absence from social media, the beauty brand of entrepreneur and reality star Kylie Jenner, Kylie Cosmetics, has teased a relaunch of its Lip Kit ranges, the product line that catapulted the beauty owner’s business to become a million dollar success.
In May, the brand deleted all of its Instagram posts and uploaded one image of Jenner with the caption ‘something is coming’, sparking rumours the brand was undergoing a revamp.
Over the weekend, the Coty-controlled brand shared a teaser video of the new Lip Kits with its 25 million followers, seemingly with similar names to its former lines with the caption: ‘Meet the new Lip Kit. Lightweight, smudge resistant, 8 hour wear’.
Jenner also took to her own social media channel to share the announcement, and let on that more is to come from the brand.
‘Gave @kyliecosmetics a little makeover. #ComingSoon’, she wrote.
Jenner embarked on her beauty venture at 18 years old in November 2015, initially launching with three Lip Kits, each with a liquid matte lipstick and complementing lip liner.
After proving a sell out success at the soft launch, Jenner set about adding three new colours to the range and upped her production line from 5,000 overall to 500,000 per shade, six months later.
Over the years, Jenner has expanded her product line, enrolling the help of her famous sisters for collaborative collections, as well as a product takeover by ‘momager’ Kris Jenner.
