New partnership with TerraCycle will see recycling service in every UK store

L’Occitane has announced a new partnership with recycling company TerraCycle which will provide a collection and recycling service for empty beauty packaging in all its stores in the UK.

Already available in L’Occitane stores in the US and France, the new initiative will allow customers to bring in empties from any brand in return for 10% off any L’Occitane product in-store.

Launching today at the brand’s London flagship, the service is intended to reduce the amount of plastic going to landfill, promote wider education around the recycling of beauty packaging and encourage consumers to engage more with the process of recycling.

According to Recycling Bins, Brits use up to 275,000 tonnes of plastic each year. Up to 80% of plastic waste currently going to UK landfill can be recycled.

The service is applicable to all skin care, hair care and beauty packaging from both L’Occitane and other cosmetic brands.
