Shiseido (Canada) launches operations in the country following the takeover of the colour cosmetics brand last year

Laura Mercier has launched on the Canadian market for the first time, ten months after the colour cosmetics brand was acquired by Shiseido Americas Corporation.

The brand will be sold as part of the Shiseido (Canada) offering of cosmetics lines, which also includes NARS, BareMinerals, Buxom and Clé de Peau Beauté.

Marc Rey, President and Chief Executive Officer of Shiseido Americas, said: “Laura Mercier's belief that what makes you unique makes you beautiful has resonated well with its loyal and fast growing customer base.

“And we couldn't be happier to play a role in expanding the reach of the brand's iconic French elegance and inspiring innovation."

The Canadian Laura Mercier team will be looking to “further acquaint” retailers, media, influencers and consumers, said Louanne McGrory, President, Shiseido (Canada), through “retail excellence, beautiful events and innovative partnerships”.

The brand plans to expand its presence across the country with in-store activities and digital communications, including media and influencer participation.

It also said career opportunities will open up as a result of the country expansion.
