MAC to reward UK consumers with Select loyalty scheme

Estée Lauder brand currently offers rewards programme in the US

Estée Lauder brand MAC has confirmed it is due to roll out its Select rewards loyalty programme in the UK in August or September this year.

The programme, which is described on MAC’s website as “a makeup-lovers’ cult for the seduced, devoted and downright obsessed”, is already active in the US.

If the UK programme follows the same set-up as the US version, there will be three tiers for consumers to climb: Seduced, Devoted and Obsessed. The more a consumer spends, the higher up they can climb and the greater privileges they can unlock.

Rewards range from free product samples to limited-edition products for Seduced members; free express make-up application and complimentary two-day fast-track shipping for Devoted members ($150 spend or more in a calendar year); and first access to new products and a deluxe annual gift for Obsessed members ($500 spend or more in a year).

In the US, no purchase is needed to join the programme – consumers can sign up online or in-store and will immediately gain Seduced status. Currently, consumers must be at least 13 years of age to qualify for the programme.
