Pure Beauty talks to Rakesh Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Escentual.com about the business of beauty buying.
Can you tell us about your role?
I’m the Founder and CEO of Escentual.com and still actively involved in buying for the business. I attend all of the brand strategy meetings and work closely on the selection of new brands and products that we will list.
What do you regard as the most exciting beauty launches over the past year?
The exclusive launch of La Roche-Posay Serozinc was very exciting. The PR campaign got lots of exposure for the brand and we sold out of the initial batch within hours. We had anticipated that it would do well but it exceeded our expectations. We re-stocked quickly to meet the demand and La Roche- Posay was thrilled with the response. We want to work on more exclusive launches, especially serum and oil launches, which have been huge recently in terms of sales....
