New pack made from biomass and mycelium will house beauty brand’s Everyday Essential Kit

Skin care brand Naya has invested in its sustainable credentials by housing its Everyday Essential Kit in a new compostable gift box.

Said to be 100% biodegradable or recyclable, the pack is made from biomass and mycelium.

Derived from mushrooms, mycelium is the vegetable root structure of the fungi – and has become a popular choice among beauty brands that are trying to reduce their plastic content.

Naya’s gift box also has a recyclable paper sleeve.

Inside the set, priced at £86, are the brand’s Everyday Cleansing Oil, Glow Serum, Day Cream and Face Oil.

Packaging, meanwhile, is not the only avenue Naya hopes will reduce its impact on the environment.

The brand sources its star ingredient, cacay oil, directly from farmers in Colombia and works directly with its supply chain to protect and harvest 30-50 hectares of land within the rainforest.

For every product purchased through the brand’s DTC website, nayaglow.com, the brand will plant a tree in the area, to replace those used within its formulations.
