Japan’s ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co announces closure of Episteme Trading Shanghai


Japan’s ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co has announced the closure of Episteme Trading Shanghai, the company responsible for importing ROHTO cosmetics and operating beauty parlours in China.

ROHTO Pharmaceutical started selling high end cosmetics to department stores in Beijing and Shanghai in 2010, but has faced uncertain profitability because of intense competition with rival makers from Europe, the US, Korea and Japan.
