Silmer Sustain-H exhibits many of the performance benefits that consumers have come to love from silicone elastomer gels, with the added feature of improved sustainability

Silmer® Sustain-H is a novel silicone elastomer gel diluted in a sustainable biobased hemisqualane carrier. Silmer® Sustain-H exhibits many of the performance benefits that consumers have come to love from silicone elastomer gels, with the added feature of improved sustainability. The product provides cushion, moisturization and a silky smooth sensorial in skin and sun care products. It excels at providing uniform color and powder dispersion in makeup. Silmer® Sustain-H exhibits slightly longer playtime on the skin than traditional elastomer gels offered in carriers such as cyclopentasiloxane or isododecane. The INCI name is C13-15 Alkane (and) Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer.

Siltech recently submitted Silmer® Sustain-H to an outside lab for confirmation of the biobased carbon content for this product. The results indicate 90% biobased carbon content. Siltech additionally has assembled multiple formulations highlighting how this more sustainable silicone elastomer gel can impart premium performance in finished personal care products. One such formulation, Sustainable Hydration Moisturizing Cream, was also submitted for biobased carbon content testing and was found to have >90% biobased carbon content. The addition of the Silmer® Sustain-H in the formulation contributes to an exceptional sensorial, emolliency and ultr-hydration.

Siltech continues to innovate more sustainable silicone offerings and excels at partnering with industry leaders in the design of sustainable formulations, all made possible by our specialty silicone offerings.
