Sleevercombi represents \'new generation of high-speed shrink-sleeve machines\'

Sleevercombi from Sleever International and its subsidiary SleeverMachines are claimed to represent a new generation of high-speed shrink-sleeve machines. Implementing a proprietary patented technique – featuring a floating conformator to open the sleeve, rotary synchronised multi-blade cutting, transfer of the sleeve by ejection and position control of the product by feed screw (single, double, with or without orientation) – the new machine is 100% electronic.

Assets, according to Sleever, include results at speeds up to 30,000 bottles per hour for the single head version and 60,000 for the dual head in line or in parallel, and format changeovers that can be carried out in less than 20 minutes per operator. In addition, an optimised, streamlined design controlled by brushless motors means that movement accuracy has been improved up to ± 5/10th mm.

The Sleevercombi is designed to handle containers of 16mm to 190mm in diameter with heights ranging from 30mm to 320mm. It is compatible with all existing sleeve materials of thicknesses between 30µm and 120µm and can be equipped with peripheral accessories including a full micro-perforation unit, auto-control vision system, marking and coding system, and a separate non-stop reel changeover unit.
