Slow beauty and wearables: Key trends from Cosmoprof Asia

With the FaceGym innovation pipeline already full and travel costs at record highs, there was no rationale in me careering across the globe for a two-day ‘Sling fling’ at Cosmoprof Asia.

But such is the draw of Asian beauty, pure unadulterated FOMO made me do it.

Like any other big thrill chaser, the intrepid beauty entrepreneur always in search for that elusive hero sku, the “one sold every 30 seconds”, this is the dream that gets us up in the morning, the mantra that keeps us pushing and the notion that keeps our teams believing.

I just needed to prevail over the 15,000 other visitors as I scoured over 1,200 booths, spread across 50sqkm.

The year 2023, for me, is about the increased proliferation of beauty and wellness, beauty tools and topicals, in-clinic and at-home, it’s all melting into one holistic approach to how you look and feel.

Skin success is clearly a combination of lifestyle, advanced skin care actives, tech and tweakments, and I’m looking for ideas that bring this to life in a more effective, efficient and sustainable format.

As the self-proclaimed poster girl for biotech ingredients, I’m looking for innovation in lab. I want high-skin, low-environmental impact. I’m also looking for a mash up of tech modalities and if one more person tries to sell me a digital beauty product for the metaverse…!
