The mystery of red snow
The product is based on the extract of unique extremophile algae that are able to survive on glaciers and permanent snow. At extreme environmental conditions the algae turns from a green to red form and produces valuable stress response molecules. At Mibelle Biochemistry an in-house tube photobioreactor was developed to produce bio mass of the algae raw material in a sustainable way.
The key to skin's longevity
Snow Algae Powder stimulates the longevity gene klotho and activates AMPK, a master switch in the cellular defense system. The klotho protein interferes with the insulin growth factor receptor signaling inducing a calorie restriction-mimetic effect. Calorie restriction is the only proven mechanism which can prolong the lifespan of an organism. At skin's cellular level, Snow Algae Powder improves cellular defenses, oxidative stress resistance, cell detoxification and repair by activating these two key longevity factors.
Reversing the effects of time
In a clinical study using multiphoton tomography, Snow Algae Powder showed a clear improvement (+30,5%) of the papillary structure at the dermal epidermal junction - for a firmer and rejuvenated skin surface.
