The intelligent cell protecting factor

Prevents Photo-Aging by Protecting the Skin against UV-Induced Stress
SunActin is an organic sunflower shoot extract combined with natural vitamin E in a nano-emulsion. SunActin protects the skin against oxidative stress and complements the protective effect of sunscreens.

Sprouts also called shoots have naturally occurring levels of nutrients (vitamins, antioxidants and phyto-nutrients) which are higher than in the corresponding mature plant.

Photo-aging is the main aging process as solar UV radiation is known to be responsible for 80% of skin aging. It affects especially the extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins which form the skin’s connective tissue and whose degradation accelerates due to the increasing level of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs).

Several studies including gene array analysis showed the capacity of SunActin to:

  • inhibit the production of MMPs responsible for the degradation of major skin components
  • boost the protective effect of sunscreens while neutralizing their oxidant effect.

  • Claim Ideas for SunActin

    • Boosts protective effect of sunscreens
    • Enhances the skin’s defense capacity
    • Prevents formation of sunburn cells
    • Reduces aging, even at cellular level
    • Protects skin from UV induced oxidative stress

    Applications

    • Skin care with an SPF protection
    • Sun care
    • Anti-aging

    Applications

    • Formulating with SunActin
    • Recommended use level: 2 – 5 %
    • Incorporation: For cold processes, dissolve SunActin into the aqueous phase. In cold/hot processes, add during the cooling phase below 40°C.
    • Thermostability: Temperatures of up to 60°C for a short time do not affect the stability of SunActin.
