UK-based manufacturer bought by DIC-owned company

DIC-owned company Sun Chemical has purchased a UK-based manufacturer to expand its production of cosmetics colours. Kingfisher Colours serves the global cosmetics and personal care industry and now will be integrated into Sun Chemical's printing inks and pigments business.

Sun Chemical is looking to expand its position within the decorative colour cosmetics market, and will now operate alongside Kingfisher Colour's portfolio, creating new looks and expanding colour space capabilities. The acquisition will also add to Sun Chemical's manufacturing capabilities, allowing the company to push for greater penetration in developing markets.

Myron Petruch, President of Sun Chemical Performance Pigments, said: "The addition of Kingfisher's diverse, high quality product lines and specialised tailor-made products will further expand Sun Chemical's cosmetics and personal care product offerings globally. Sun Chemical has experienced tremendous growth in the global cosmetics market and this acquisition will help us to grow quickly into this strategic market and enable us to better serve our customers."
