Special occasions such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day are a key focus for many countries’ fragrance industries, but in China, they are even more crucial. Valentine’s Day in China, for example drives 30% of annual perfume sales, according to market research company Daxue Consulting, and this is because perfumes are nearly exclusively bought for special events.
