What must formulators bear in mind when developing sun protection products?
Dr Marc Pissavini: The first thing that we have to keep in mind is regulation. If we formulate a product for Europe it is different to what we can formulate for the US market, unfortunately – and it seems that this will not change in the future. The European Cosmetic Regulation gives us a greater choice of sun protection ingredients.
