P&G calls time on Rochas

The industry is buzzing with reports that Procter & Gamble, owner of French fashion house Rochas, intends to close the fashion arm of the label.

P&G will still produce fragrances under the Rochas name, which it inherited with its acquisition of Wella in 2003. The fashion business will ship the autumn/winter collection for 2006 but, pending the rather arduous procedures for closing a business under French law, it is likely that the 30 employees will cease to produce further collections
