Rhodia increases IBCH production capacity in China
Fragrance ingredient boosts Aroma Performance business
Rhodia is planning to increase production of the widely used perfumery ingredient IsoBornyl CycloHexanol (IBCH) in conjunction with the transfer of Rhodia’s Wuxi plant to the group’s new industrial platform located in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province. Rhodia’s Aroma Performance business is responsible for the production of Rhodiantal IBCH, which is used to formulate a sandalwood note for use in fine fragrance, home and personal care and incense products.
“This investment reflects our ongoing strategy aimed at strengthening the position of Aroma Performance in the rapidly growing speciality products market in Asia,” said Dominique Rage, ceo of Aroma Performance of the company’s plan to boost IBCH production.
Regional director of Aroma Performance, Asia Pacific, Olivier Champault added that the plant, which will begin operations in 2011, “will offer our customers optimal quality of service”.
