Shiseido completes Bare Escentuals acquisition
Shiseido has confirmed completion of the acquisition of the US minerals-based cosmetics company Bare Escentuals.
Shiseido has confirmed completion of its $1.7bn operation to acquire the US minerals-based cosmetics company Bare Escentuals of San Francisco. The bid offer closed on 9 March with Shiseido in possession of 86.9% of the equity, after offering a price of $18.20 per share.
The San Francisco company has a network of some 800 shops and 1500 salons with about 85% of sales derived from the American market. The acquisition by Shiseido is being funded through bank credits of about $1.3bn together with funds from its own reserves.
