Shiseido's DQ to take drugstore route in China
Shiseido is to launch its new DQ brand of cosmetics for drugstores in China in March via its local subsidiary Shiseido China Co Ltd. Sales of the Japanese group's products are achieved mainly through department stores and speciality cosmetics outlets but the new drugstore channel will provide a third outlet.

Drugstores in China started selling cosmetics in addition to their traditional herbal medicines and pharma business in the 1990s and currently provide some 10% of the cosmetics market.
