Shiseido to consolidate subsidiaries

Shiseido has consolidated three US-based subsidiaries - Shiseido Cosmetics (America), Nars Cosmetics and ZIC Corporation - into Shiseido International Corporation, which will undergo a name change to become Shiseido Americas Corporation (SAC).


Shiseido has consolidated three US-based subsidiaries - Shiseido Cosmetics (America), Nars Cosmetics and ZIC Corporation - into Shiseido International Corporation, which will undergo a name change to become Shiseido Americas Corporation (SAC).

According to Shiseido, the consolidation forms part of a strategy to increase the group’s competitive strengths and to build a solid presence in the US.

Shoji Takahashi has been appointed chairman and ceo of SAC. He will replace Shuichi Tanaka, chairman and ceo of Shiseido International Corporation, who is retiring at the end of July this year, after 35 years with the company.

ZIC Corporation is due to be dissolved this month and will be followed by Nars Cosmetics and Shiseido Cosmetics (America), which will be dissolved in 2009.
