Shiseido has announced the creation of a wholly owned subsidiary in Vietnam, due to commence operations in January next year.
Shiseido Cosmetics Vietnam will handle import business and the sale of Shiseido cosmetic products in the country, and replaces an existing distribution agreement, which has been in place since 1997.
The move is part of Shiseido’s three-year plan, launched in 2008, in which the manufacturer aims to become “a global player representing Asia with its origins in Japan”.
