Consumer group identifies growth in hair, skin and eye products

A survey by the European Consumers Organisation (BEUC) and standardisation group ANEC has concluded there has been a major increase in products incorporating nanoparticles this year, including personal care lines.

Compared with a survey staged last year, the number of nanoproducts increased, considering all industries, to 475 from 151 in 2009. Indeed in 2010, there were 103 such personal care products indentified, ranging from nano-silver hair straightener, moisturising nano-emulsion to a nano eye-lift and many more.
