SILAB now offers SILAFILM® , a groundbreaking technology for diffusing active ingredients in the skin. In contact with water this functionalized support rapidly and intensely releases active molecules deep down in the skin.
With this new technology, the company has expanded its portfolio of natural active ingredients that until now have been offered as liquids or in preservative-free powders.
A novel technology for an enhanced bioavailability of active ingredients
SILAFILM® is composed of two main components:
- One or more highly concentrated SILAB’s active ingredients
- A matrix, made up of a polysaccharide network combined with emollients and mineral fillers, forming a smart support system for the cosmetic active ingredients
Water is the essential element to activate the performance of SILAFILM® . The dry film is applied to previously wetted skin. With this water, it rehydrates and creates intimate contact with the skin surface as a result of its optimal adhesion. The polysaccharide chains in its matrix then become more mobile, enabling the rapid, intense release of active molecules deep down in the skin.
Indeed, with this unique patented process, the film provides a significant bioavailability of the active ingredients as of 10 minutes of application. Compared to other types of masks (tissue and hydrogel), with equivalent concentrations in active ingredients, the amount of peptides from Lens esculenta released is 1.5 times greater than that provided by a tissue mask and 2.5 times higher than that obtained from a hydrogel mask.

Based on this technological innovation, two films were specifically developed:
SILAFILM® Radiance, genuine radiance boosting concentrate
This film concentrates the efficacy of the active ingredients OXYGESKIN® and p-REFINYL® to provide mature skin with hydration, and a smoothing and radiance boosting effect.
SILAFILM® Pureness, anti-imperfection concentrated care
This film is concentrated in the purifying active ingredient ACNESIUM® and has an anti-seborrhea and hydrating effect on oily skin with a tendency to acne.
A true delivery system, SILAFILM® is a biodegradable dry film with outstanding mechanical properties and sensory qualities (comfort during application, elasticity, softness), offering targeted cosmetic benefits, whether used as a single application or as a prolonged treatment.
