Sun Chemical is to expand its high performance pigment manufacturing capabilities in China with the announcement it has formed a joint venture with Chinese high performance pigment manufacturer, Lianyungang Haidi Chemcals Co, Ltd.

The joint venture will be renamed Lianyungang DIC Color Co, Ltd and will continue to manufacture pigments and sell them through the Sun Chemical and DIC (Sun Chemical’s parent company) global sales network. It is expected the joint venture will eventually lead to an expansion of the high performance pigment product line, to include a wider range of organic pigments.

“This agreement expands Sun Chemical’s manufacturing capabilities of high performance pigments for our paints, coatings, plastics and ink customers worldwide,” commented Myron Petruch, president, performance pigments, Sun Chemical. “It will also enable us to further provide our customers with high performance pigments in Asia.”
