Following its management buyout from Virgin in January this year, VIE at home has now announced the acquisition of aromatherapy direct sales company Likisma. Founded 17 years ago and combining aromatherapy products with a direct sales business format in the UK and internationally, Likisma was seen as having an almost identical ethos and strategy to VIE at home.
“Likisma was entering a pivotal phase in its development – in order to grow it needed further investment and the kind of support a bigger company could bring,” comments VIE at home ceo Ros Simmons. “VIE at home can supply all of this as well as use our considerable resources to further develop the ranges.
“An important element of our business plan is to extend our product ranges. I am personally very excited about the addition of a credible aromatherapy collection to our product offer as I truly believe in a holistic approach to beauty, both on the inside and outside. This will be our stepping stone to other new products in 2010 so watch this space!”
VIE at home says it is currently working on the rebranding, packaging and point of sale for the aromatherapy products which will be available from June 2009. The company has increased its consultant team by 14% since the MBO.
