Last year C&T companies continued to work on their recovery from the financial woes of the past couple of years and there were signs that business was on the up. 2011 proved to be a year full of acquisitions, expansions and launches, as Katie Middleweek reports

The past year was one of ups and downs but the general beauty landscape did seem to be more optimistic than in 2010, with many C&T companies forging forwards with their plans to expand, acquire and succeed in a recovering marketplace.

Results were generally positive, although this was by no means always the case, and many companies joined forces with one another, or acquired new licences or even sold off underperforming parts of their business in order to streamline their operations.

Either way, as 2011 drew to a close the beauty industry had continued to cement a much stronger footing.
