Colonial Chemical has announced the release of two new products that add to its product line of naturally derived surfactant products that are sustainable and green.

Poly Suga Betaine L, lauryl glucosides betaine crosspolymer, and Poly Suga Betaine C, coco glucosides betaine crosspolymer are the new additions to the wide range of functioning green surfactants and quats Colonial already has on the market. Both of these products have been green star patented and approved.

The new green betaines score a low 1.75 on the HET-CAM Eye Irritation test versus an 18.5 for traditional betaines in the same test. With no amido propyl group, the Poly Suga Betaine has an overall better toxicity profile. Naturally derived from renewable resources they have excellent foam and viscosity building properties and are said to be useful for all personal care foaming formulations.
