Artist Tate McRae has broken into the beauty industry after months of speculation with her first fragrance, Tate 01.
The ‘Greedy’ singer’s floral-woody second-skin scent is inspired by McRae’s “effortless confidence and authentic style”, and will launch exclusively at US retailer Ulta Beauty this month.
It has been created in strategic partnership with Scent Beauty, an e-commerce platform for bespoke fragrances, who plans to build a fragrance empire with McRae.
“Tate McRae’s authentic creative energy resonates with millions worldwide,” said Stephen Mormoris, CEO and founder of Scent Beauty.

“Partnering with her to launch Tate 01 is the first step in building a long-term fragrance brand designed to leave a lasting cultural mark.
“We cannot wait for her fans to experience a project that so genuinely reflects her personal vision and style.”
Rumours began circling that McRae could be entering beauty when an application to trademark ‘Tate By Tate McRae’ was filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on 2 July 2026.
McRae is currently a Global Brand Ambassador for skin care brand Neutrogena.
The brand faced a social media backlash in August after McRae barely touched her skin with the Neutrogena products she was promoting in a TikTok video that went viral.

Breaking down the formula of Tate McRae’s Tate 01 fragrance
McRae’s Tate 01 fragrance opens with bergamot and clary sage, before unfolding into a heart of white florals, and settling into a base of amber, tonka bean and sandalwood.
The scent is anchored by ISO E Super technology, which enables it to interact dynamically with individual skin chemistry to create a “personalised” velvet-woody aura that evolves throughout the day.
The fragrance was crafted in collaboration with Givaudan Master Perfumers Adriana Medina and Antoine Maisondieu.
“In my beauty routine, fragrance is that final invisible layer that elevates my entire mood,” said McRae.
“With Tate 01, I set out to craft a scent that feels entirely second-skin: effortless, subtly edgy and perfectly you.
“It melts in so gracefully that it never wears you; it just enhances who you already are.
“I love to wear it during rehearsals – the scent warms up and moves with my body, allowing me to feel confident.”
Tate 01’s bottle is crafted from substantial glass, with the design said to mirror the scent itself – “balancing soft, fluid contours with architectural strength to communicate uncompromised quality and modern luxury,” read a company statement.
The campaign imagery has been shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti and is inspired by the “mood” of the 1990s supermodel culture.
Tate 01 is available to buy now on tatebytm.com, ranging from 10ml to 100ml in size (RRP US$30 to $82).
It will then exclusively launch on Ulta Beauty’s website on 16 October and enter the retailer’s stores nationwide on 25 October.
