Seppic has launched its SOS Silhouette slimming programme with an active ingredient duo - Adiposlim and Adipoless - that act on adipocytes (fat cells) with an original and complementary effect.
Adiposlim is said to simultaneously restrict and eliminate the storage of fats in adipocytes by inhibiting free fatty acid production and stimulating lipolysis, which recycles the free fatty acids into energy. The product claims to reduce existing cellulite in just a month with visible improvement demonstrated in vivo versus placebo. In terms of efficacy, it is as efficient as caffeine for the lipolytic action, according to Seppic. However, Adiposlim is easier to use in formulation and offers the advantage of avoiding trigly-ceride reformation.
Adipoless is said to provide a preventative action against cellulite formation. Through an original anti-adipogenesis mechanism, it blocks the MMP-9 signals that control new adipocyte recruitment. In addition, Adipoless uses an innovative anti-angiogenesis mode of action where the formation of new blood vessels is inhibited which suppresses cell maturation and forces the adipocytes to stay in their dormant, non-operational, non-fat storing form. Both ingredients are well tolerated by the skin and can be used independently or together for their curative and preventative properties. Use levels are 3% and 1-3% respectively in topical cosmetic applications.
