President predicted to hand over on his 65th birthday in March

Lindsay Owen-Jones, current president of the L'Oréal group, is to hand over the role of president to the director general Jean-Paul Agon in March, according to a report in the Paris-based Journal du Dimanche (JDD). The report suggests that 17 March is Owen-Jones's 65th birthday and that this major change of leadership is to be approved by the board very shortly.

Owen-Jones handed over to his director general in 2006 when he himself was director general having taken up the post in 1988. Agon, now 54, has been with the company since 1978. The company has declined all comment on the report.
