Astron's skin analyser presents new opportunities
Astron Clinica has launched new software supported skin analysis system, designed to enable the cosmetic formulator to test and accurately quantify the effects of a product by measuring the chromophore concentrations of haemoglobin, melanin and collagen.
Astron Clinica has launched new software supported skin analysis system, designed to enable the cosmetic formulator to test and accurately quantify the effects of a product by measuring the chromophore concentrations of haemoglobin, melanin and collagen.
The COSMETRICS+ software uses SIAscopy technology, which allows the user to measure individual concentrations of the three chromophores in a single scan, in vivo up to 2mm below the skin’s surface.
The software also allows users to define target regions of interest within a scan, such as age spots, where a more discrete chromophore measurement can be taken. It can be used to set up trial parameters, accurately recording volunteer visits as well as allowing the generation of accurate, reliable objective data. An export function ensures images and measurements can be exported for further statistical or image analysis, or for use in promotional material.
