The 855 USB Titrosampler Sample Processor from Metrohm UK Ltd is said to combine high performance titration with pH/ISE measurement. The Metrohm 855 is claimed to reduce the risk of contamination by featuring a rinsing station outside of the sample rack. High velocity rinsing jets blast contamination from the electrode with water or another solvent and there is a powerful propeller stirrer for agitation. For removing solid contamination the Metrohm 855 includes peristaltic pumps.
The new machine uses Tiamo software, which allows the user to write bespoke rinsing protocols for each sample type.
Products tested using the Metrohm 855 and successfully rinsed from the electrode include mascara, cosmetic cream foundation, suntan cream, hydrating eye gel, hair gels, toothpaste gel and hair removal cream.
As a titrator the Metrohm 855 masters dynamic titration (DET), monotonic titration (MET), titration to a present endpoint (SET), enzymatic and pH-STAT titration (STAT).
It is controlled via a USB connection using touch control, PC Control 4.0 or Tiamo 1.3.
