The British Beauty Council has named British rugby player Tatyana Heard as its debut Sports Ambassador.

Heard is a member of the England women's national rugby union team and plays for Gloucester-Hartpury in the Premiership Women's Rugby (PWR).

Her appointment was unveiled by British Beauty Council founder and CEO Millie Kendall during the organisation's British Beauty Week 2025.

“One of the key trends driving success in our sector is the way in which we are tapping into new communities and resonating with them in untapped ways,” Kendall said during an event held on 22 October.

“One of those is the sports community, where we have seen beauty and professional sports women combined in messages of empowerment and confidence to tell new stories.

“These are immense synergies across both sectors, and I felt for many, many years that there is more to uncover in terms of collaboration and alignment.”

Heard joins The British Beauty Council’s existing ambassador roster, which includes supermodel Kate Moss, singer Rita Ora, and MUA and Jones Road founder Bobbi Brown.

In her role, Heard will shine a light on the “power of beauty for shifting stereotypes and reclaiming narratives”.

“I am delighted to be appointed as the British Beauty Council's first sport ambassador,” said Heard.

“As the world of sports and beauty continues to converge, it feels like the perfect time to kick start this conversation, collaboration.

“As a sportswoman, I have always felt that I have been put into a box. However, beauty has always been a crucial [form of] expression for me.

“Although I like to keep my routine simple, it helps to build my confidence before a game and also allows me to wind down after the whistle blows.”

Heard claimed that beauty also plays a key role in the practicality of rugby, and added: “Lots of my fellow teammates get their hair braided ahead of the game, not only for practicality, but also as a ritual before hitting the pitch.

“All of this proves that beauty is so much more than just surface level, and that is the message I want to shout about via my work with the council, helping to shape the future of beauty and show that the worlds of beauty and sport very much belong together.”

The British Beauty Council is running from 20 to 26 October, with this year’s week-long event taking on the theme of ‘The Future of Beauty’.

This will include sessions spotlighting artificial intelligence (AI)-powered innovations, new manufacturing techniques, sustainability, consumer trends and more.
