Budel Pack International has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Hirtler GmbH, a bar soap production plant in Heitersheim, Germany, owned by Beiersdorf.

Hirtler currently employs 93 people, all of whom will be transferred to Budelpack.

“The acquisition of the specialised Hirtler facility, one of the largest soap bar plants in Europe, perfectly fits our buy and build strategy,” said Peter Ingelse, CCO of Budelpack. “With this acquisition we strengthen our position in the bath & shower market in Europe and create new chances for the sales of a wider product portfolio to our customer base.”

The sale of Hirtler means that Beiersdorf's measures to realign its supply chain organization (procurement/production/distribution) in Germany are nearing completion. Beiersdorf say that these extensive measures will not result in any reduction in staff.
