Arkema, an international chemicals company, has developed an organic oxidation catalyst which is said could offer numerous possibilities for the fragrance and perfumery industry.
Oxynitrox S100 can be used in the oxidation process of primary alcohols into aldehydes and in the formation of aldehyde structures. The chemical is non-metallic, recyclable and is said to require less energy as it performs well at moderate temperatures.
The company is to host a presentation on Oxynitrox S100 at In-Cosmetics 2007 today.
