Cinematic colour

Dior says its new Rouge Dior represents a new generation of lipstick where the worlds of cinema and couture collide. The goal in development was to “push back the limits of Dior Rouge’s current formula” and the result was the creation of two new complexes.

The first, a skin care lip perfector complex is said to provide moisturising, smoothing and plumping effects thanks to a material that penetrates the upper layers of the skin, filling out the areas between cells to make lips look fuller.

The second innovation is a colour reveal complex, said to borrow from lighting techniques used on film sets. When mixed with the lipstick the mineral powder becomes a silvery paste that is luminous and pearly and is made up of thousands of tiny prisms with a high refractive index. These concentrate light and bounce it back in an amplfied way similar to a screen effect. Rouge Dior is available in 32 shades.
