Clarins acquires majority stake in Kibio

Clarins has acquired a majority stake in Kibio, a company which develops and markets bio-cosmetics sold in pharmacies and comparable outlets.


Clarins has acquired a majority stake in Kibio, a company which develops and markets bio-cosmetics sold in pharmacies and comparable outlets.

Clarins purchased a 10% stake in the company in 2006 – just a year after its foundation by Laurent Potier and Pierre Cabane formerly of L'Oreal – and secured an option to acquire up to 60% of Kibio's capital. Kibio products are now being commercialised in several European countries and in North America, generating annual sales of some €8m.
