Event also celebrated fragrance’s 25th anniversary

The winner of this year’s Most Dynamisante Woman 2012 was announced yesterday, at the 25th anniversary celebration of Clarins’ Eau Dynamisante.

Lucy Buck, 34, founder of Child’s i Foundation, won this year’s award for her inspirational work in Uganda, helping to find homes and families for orphaned children. After volunteering in a baby orphanage in Uganda and seeing the damage that can be caused by the institutional care of children, Buck felt compelled to take action. She quit her job as a TV producer on Big Brother and set up the foundation, with the aim of helping as many Ugandan children in orphanages find new homes as possible. The foundation has so far helped over 100 children find new families.

It’s the difference between a child languishing in an orphanage or being loved and cherished in a family.

As part of the award, Clarins handed over a £30,000 donation to Buck, which will allow a further ten social workers to be trained in order to work in the Child’s i Foundation social work department. Speaking about the importance of the foundation’s work, Buck said: “It’s the difference between a child languishing in an orphanage or being loved and cherished in a family.”

The awards, which are named after Clarins’ fragrance Eau Dynamisante, have been running for 10 years.
