Clarins has named Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi Global Spokesperson for its Precious anti-ageing skin care line.
Ziyi, also a director and producer, will front the premium skin care line as part of a new campaign, which launches in September.
Clarins’ Precious was launched in March 2023 and is formulated using the cryoextracted essence of the moonlight flower, which is said to be high in gallic acid and antioxidants.
Tickets are now available for the 25th anniversary of the Pure Beauty Awards, taking place on 15 October 2026 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, UK. Join the beauty industry for an evening of recognition and celebration as this year’s winners are revealed. Click here to secure your place.
Ziyi said: "I have always admired Clarins' innovative spirit.
“Their deep commitment to excellence mirrors my own.
“I am delighted to join the Clarins family, and I am truly honoured to be part of the Clarins Precious story."
Ziyi made her film debut in 1998 with Zhang Yimou's The Road Home, which was awarded the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival.
Her performance in Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, in the summer of 2000, helped to spread her reputation to an international audience.
Ziyi then starred in the Hollywood movie, Memoirs of a Geisha, directed by Rob Marshall, which was released in 2005.
Katalin Berenyi, Clarins Brand Managing Director, added: "We are so proud and so excited to welcome Zhang Ziyi into the Clarins Precious family.
“Ziyi brings so much to Precious and to Clarins: her personality, her drive for perfection, and that unique aura she has in China and all around the world.
“She has an incredible passion for craftsmanship, for excellence and innovation.
“And what makes this moment truly special is the genuine emotional connection she has with Clarins."
Ziyi is not the only recent star appointed as the face of an anti-ageing skin care line, with L’Oréal Paris naming American actress Kristen Bell its Global Ambassador in August.
Bell, best known for her roles in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This and The Good Place, as well as Disney’s Frozen, will front L’Oréal Paris’ upcoming Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Cream
