Cosmeceuticals an industry to watch says US expert

The US Project for Emerging Nanotechnologies’ chief science advisor has included ‘cosmeceuticals’ in his list of the world’s top 10 emerging technologies. Dr Andrew Maynard said advances in nanoengineering allowed the combination of cosmetics and medicines into new improved products. As global regulatory bodies face pressure to approve these products, he said “cosmeceuticals are going to hit the scene big-time”.
