Cosmetics sales in Peru grow by 25% in 2006

Sales of cosmetic products grew by 25% in 2006 to reach $900 million, according to the Comité Peruano de la Industria Cosmética y Productos de Aseo y Limpieza, part of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL).


Sales of cosmetic products grew by 25% in 2006 to reach $900 million, according to the Comité Peruano de la Industria Cosmética y Productos de Aseo y Limpieza, part of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL).

Average growth in previous years has been roughly 15% with last year's results attributable to rising prices and consumers upscaling.

Imported brands account for 75% of the total cosmetic products sold in Peru with the remaining 25% produced locally.
