“We recorded 177,287 visitors in just four days,” says Fabio Roversi Monaco, president of Bologna Fiere. “All data confirms that the Italian exhibition has become extremely successful on an international level.”
Cosmoprof Bologna hosted 2,300 exhibitors from 58 countries spreading out over an area of 194,000sqm. Foreign visitors were up by 8% compared to previous year to total 36,076. On Friday 18th, the opening day of the show, Cosmoprof Bologna recorded the return of an increasing number of foreign visitors, especially from the US, France, Germany, eastern Europe and the Arab countries. Meanwhile a new influx of visitors came from India, Australia and the Far East, countries that are consolidating their business in the cosmetics industry.
Meanwhile Italian visitors numbered 141,211, an increase of 25% over 2010's show which was beset by problems due to the Icelandic volcano eruption hindering many people from flying to the show.
Cosmoprof Bologna 2011 hosted 540 accredited journalists reporting on the exhibition while a new space was set up for bloggers to report from live. Six international bloggers were based in the “Official Cosmoprof Blogger” booth where they could instantly blog about the events taking place in the individual pavilions.
