Skin Concept is a Swiss skin care manufacturer that uses its scientific expertise to create innovative products with ‘made in Switzerland’ quality. Chief Operating Officer Wolfgang Mayer talks to Cosmetic News Weekly about the principles and expertise behind the brand and its products.

How did Skin Concept begin?

Skin Concept developed out of Medena, a contract manufacturer based in Switzerland which developed products for some of the biggest cosmetics companies. It kept ownership of its formulations and over the years gathered more than 3,000, ranging from liquids and semi-liquids to aerosols. In 2006, the company changed ownership and started to develop its own brands with different strategies, forming Skin Concept as a separate entity to Medena. In three years we have built up a range of around 300 products.
