ICI has announced it is to sell its oleochemicals and surfactants business Uniqema to speciality chemicals manufacturer Croda in a £410m ($743m) agreement. The deal does not include the ICI Pakistan Uniqema business. The agreement is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2006.

ICI put Uniqema up for sale in February. Croda has said that the acquisition fulfils a long term strategic goal for the company.
